Descriptions of Divisions

Teaching Only – This division is for those who want to come to their bowling centre and instruct/coach youth, Special O, or adults.

Teaching Participant- This division is for those who instruct/coach and also wish to compete against their peers. There is no average requirement; it is based on Pins over Average. You bowl five tournaments from October to February, which are qualifying rounds to make the Provincial final. The best three of the five are used to determine whether you qualify or not (must be in a plus over average). The top five men and top 5 ladies from the Provincial final earn the right to compete on a team at the National competition.

Senior Participant – For those who are 50 years of age and older. The format is the same as that of teaching participant, except that this division is based on Pins over Average and also scratch. Former tournament division players and teaching division players compete; as well as new bowlers to our Association who are 50 and over and want to compete but not teach or instruct. The top five winners of the Provincial finals go on to the Nationals. The team is made up both scratch and pins over average players and is a mixed team.

Tournament Division – For those who have maintained the required average of Men – 230 and Ladies – 215 to compete in 6 scratch events. You compete in six throughout the year, and the top female and top male bowl singles events at the National tournament with the next five Ladies and next five Men making up the teams.

Associate Member – For those who do not wish to instruct/coach or compete but who want to still receive all mail-outs and have voting privileges and retain their full membership status.
